About Us
Most Sorrowful Mother Counseling (MSMC) was established in 2025 in response to the existing gap in training and application of spiritually-integrated counseling within psychology. MSMC’s approach to counseling is rooted in a return to the classic philosophical understanding of the human person and their intellect, as was masterfully understood and articulated by Saint Thomas Aquinas, the renowned Dominican and Doctor of the Church, and is effected through the integration of a Thomistic philosophical and psychological framework within a counseling process grounded in contemporary, evidence-based psychological interventions.
Under the patronage of Our Most Sorrowful Mother and Saint Thomas Aquinas, MSMC is venturing to bridge this gap, offering a truly spiritually-integrated Catholic counseling and coaching approach to individuals seeking mental and spiritual health and well-being worldwide.

Behind the Name and the Ministry
Most Sorrowful Mother Counseling is named in honor of Our Lady under the title Our Lady of Sorrows, and our ministry is lovingly consecrated to Her care. Each day, as a team, we entrust our work—and all those we serve—to Her powerful intercession, asking Her to guide and bless every aspect of our ministry.
Through Her faithful endurance of the Seven Sorrows—sufferings from which Her title and our ministry draw their name—Our Lady merited the title Mother of All Consolation. Standing beneath the Cross at the crucifixion of Her Son, She was intimately united with His suffering, and from this place of profound sorrow, She merited the grace to comfort and console all who suffer.

Mental Health Professional Interested in Learning Thomistic Psychology?
We are currently seeking Catholic counselors and therapists who are interested in joining a cohort focused on learning and applying Thomistic psychology in their clinical practice. This program will include didactic training in Thomistic psychological principles, individualized case consultations from a Thomistic perspective, and the opportunity to engage in peer discussion within a professional cohort. Participation is limited to licensed mental health professionals or those with equivalent professional training.
