Clare Schumaker, LPC
Pastoral Counselor and Clinical Counselor
Clare Schumaker, LPC is a mental health therapist in private practice with Most Sorrowful Mother Counseling. She is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Wisconsin. Clare earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University.
Clare brings a wealth of experience from working in outpatient, educational, school-based, and international settings and offers individual, couples/marital, and family counseling. Her clinical approach is informed by her training in Thomistic Psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and the advanced training she has received in adoption competency. She also incorporates her training in the Christian-Catholic Meta Model of the Person (CCMMP) into her counseling work and is a member of the International Association of Catholic Mental Health Ministers. With extensive experience working with trauma-impacted populations, she brings a compassionate and skillful presence to her work.
Prior to her profession as a mental health therapist, Clare spent nearly ten years as a missionary with FOCUS. During that time, she encountered the teachings of Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, which deepened her understanding of Christian anthropology. Clare is passionate about helping clients pursue personal excellence and grow in virtue through their lived human experience. She completed advanced training in Thomistic Psychology under the mentorship of MSMC founder Thomas Pfister.
